It can’t get any better for MMA fans; Paul Buentello, on his special appearance in MMAWeekly Radio, threw down the gauntlet to rising EliteXC star Kimbo Slice, in a gesture that is viewed upon by fight enthusiasts as an open challenge to his newly found stardom. “People want to see it. I think everybody wants to see it. Me and Kimbo should lace up the gloves” quipped Buentello in the interview. In fact, there were rumors doing the rounds a year before about a possible fight between these two popular fighters, but nothing of that sort had materialized so far. Hence, the new developments are viewed upon with excitement by MMA fans all around the world, and it would be a combat par comparison between the two heavyweights in the MMA circuit if the bout ever takes place.
Paul “The Headhunter” Buentello says he respects Kimbo Slice’s ascendance in the MMA and if he were a fan, he would have definitely loved to watch Buentello taking on Slice, implying that he is a fan’s fighter. Regarding the tentative date of the possible fight, Buentello said he’ll be taking part in the March 29 Strikeforce card (the opponent is yet to be finalized), and after that he’ll consider taking on Slice if the fight ever materializes. However, Slice is yet to respond to Buentello’s challenge, and everybody including MMA fans and Buentello himself are waiting for a positive reply.
MMA has been interesting as a result of such occasional high profile combats between heavyweights. Hopefully, Buentello’s challenge to Slice might throw up another exciting day for the MMA fans, something they have been waiting for too long possibly.

Judging by the 2 fights below, Buentello will be left hunting his own head, after Kinbo knocks it off!
